Spam comments are hilarious to me. Not the typical self promotion spam posts because I don’t consider those spam. Promote yourself all you want. I welcome it! I’m also not talking about the “enlarge your body parts” kind either. I’m talking about the comments that are so vague and so broad that they could be applied to ANYTHING.

Here’s just a few:

And my personal favorite because less is more:

I’m going to start commenting on blogs like this:

“Hello Webmaster! I find your content to be comprised of quality information which can be applied to other humans who are professionals in our chosen field! I found your closings to be quite educational and completely relevant. Keep up the hard work, guy or girl!

I’d also like to add to this conversation by saying that Dexter season 2 is available for online viewing!”

I wish

This right here.

Good guys. Bad guys.

Kids toys aren’t the same as when I was a youngin’.

Our parents would buy these Captain Power toys – mainly the white ship and the black ship (which were also laser tag guns).

We would then sit and watch the show and shoot our ships at the screen.

The screen would shoot a message back and our ship would respond by taking a hit.

So many hits and our little pilot ejected from the cockpit.

Even better? We could use these ships away from the TV to have gunfights with our friends! We could shoot at each other and the same amount of hits would eject the pilot again.

So it’s funny when people my age say, “I used to play outside with a stick and some mud!”

No you didn’t.

I tried to draw Don Draper next to this quote, but I suck so I found this pic instead.

I’d like to start posting quotes from this show, but I don’t want to turn this into a Madmen fanboy blog… but there’s just SO MANY eggs of wisdom cracked over my head on this show! Yeah, whatever, I’ll still do it. Also – here’s that egg drawing.

This may or may not have been said by Steve Jobs – depends on where you find it.

Art is not meant as illustration or painting here. It’s whatever you do. Whatever you have a passion or calling for. Whatever is your life’s work. I’ve had to continually tell myself to ship this week.

I can spend forever focusing on the details until it’s perfect. I can keep delaying things to make sure everything’s right. I can keep destroying and recreating until my eyes bleed. Those things keep my “art” tucked away and safe – never shipped.

But it’s also this:

I’ll just ignore my stuff because there’s more important things to do. I won’t put anything to paper because the amount of work that comes next is too much to worry about in this moment. My end game is so far on the horizon that starting now or later won’t make much difference.

And THAT’S what I’ve been fighting all week. It’s been unproductive and it sickens me. I become frozen thinking about what it takes just to get to the STARTING line.

And I say these things because I have a feeling alot of people feel this, but rarely say it.

Just thought I’d say it.

ps – that’s a wallpaper up there if you click it.

You know what sucks? I YouTube’d a Nickleback video while I typed this LAN out to remind myself of what they sound like. It played in the background while I “Saved For Web.”

My wife caught me listening to it and now she thinks I secretly like them and this comic is some form of reverence toward them – the way you pick on someone because you have a crush on them.

Dammit.
