Old Work

The need to post something overwhelmed me tonight, so here’s some random work from a couple of months ago.

So this is pretty awesome. The Planet Gigantic three panel I did with Eric Grissom is posted to WarrenEllis.com!

Pencils and inks for page 4 of Planet Gigantic #1. Click the images to enlarge. The full inked page and notes are down below.

Boring and honest notes in case other artists are interested.

- I ink sporadically over mostly loose pencils (some parts are never loose like faces and most hands)

- I start with areas I’m not too worried about messing up (arms, chins, chests, backgrounds, etc).

- I always leave faces for last (because I’m afraid of drawing them and keeping them last ensures my hands are warmed up and ready for it, but I still mess them up sometimes, which means minor editing in Photoshop – this page will have some minor editing).

Because of how swamped I’ve been with work, I’m sad to say that Armstrong #4 will be delayed until early 2013. I’m busting my butt to get it out as soon as possible though. I’m trying hard to hit a January release (unless the end of the world occurs in December in which case… I dunno).

I’ll remember to take a more exciting ‘half-inked’ panel picture of one of the kids.

His son asked him to draw it – how cool is that?? Check out his site at www.timkressfiction.com

I’m really considering creating wide posters for the first three Armstrongs. This would be for part 4… obviously, right?

Push play and then look at these 8-bit Armstrong pictures.

Ken has an alternate outfit in Street Fighter that’s a cowboy… which explains Clinton.
