It’s Monday…

…and here’s a page out of my notebook.

On Motivation

For me, a pretty hefty reality check is the realization that the next guy is working harder than me.

I don’t mean this in a competitive fashion – I mean this as “I’m not working hard enough for what I want.”
I make legitimate excuses, but then I laugh when I hear other people say the same thing. I think, “Man, if they really wanted it then THAT wouldn’t stop them.”
And this is a new kind of motivation for me. It’s a very self aware mindset that’s helping me place value on goals and dreams. It’s no longer just the hopeful pursuit of a destination, but a very real place with a journey that I won’t complain about.
PS – I’m a dork.

Winter Is Coming

Things are slowly wrapping up on this end. Episode 3 is nearly finished and a much needed site update is in the works. I’ve been toying with the idea of printing 11×17 Armstrong posters, but I’m not sure yet.

Also – Steve Jobs passed away. Without his influence, EVERYTHING I do would be different. Every computer I’ve owned has been a Mac. We have like, 5 iPods, why? Cuz, that’s why. His passing is a sad thing and whether you’re an Apple fanboy or not, you have to admit that he helped shape the world.

Plus… Pixar. C’mon.

Man…

Armstrong 3 is taking a SUPER LONG TIME. Almost finished coloring though… but still…

Here’s a pic from it. Kinda looks like a pic from the other episodes, huh? Yep, it does.

Black and white

I would love to put out a 2 color version of Armstrong, but that just might be too much.

Puzzle Pieces

Piecing scanned images is taking longer than I thought – it’s more that I have less TIME than I’d like.

Should be done in the next few days or so.

I included the Diet Sierra Mist in the above photo because I want you to know that I’m a guy that likes to party. All the flavor… without the calories.

Also – I’ve had this attitude recently.

Inks

Friday night (Sept 9) – inking is finished on AS03.

August 30th – finished pencils.

June 22 – first post of an AS03 thumbnail.

So from June 22 to August 30, I was basically working with pencils. That’s around two and a half months. Then I finished inking in a week and a half.

Did I give up or something? Did I just dip my hands in ink, slap the penciled paper around, and then scream “DONE!”? What’s even crazier is that I STILL only worked on this at night. For the last two weeks, my days have been filled with work so I couldn’t work on it if I wanted to.

Why can’t I do everything this quickly??

UPS

Just terrible.
